Japan just experienced a magnitude 7.6 earthquake. The large earthquake triggered a tsunami that swept away many residents’ houses on Monday. The height of the tsunami was around 1 meter. Other prefectures that also received tsunami warnings were Toyama and Niigata. The local government immediately turned on sirens to warn local residents to evacuate to higher ground.
