The Chiefs Parade resulted in one person dying near Union Station in Kansas City. The shooting incident there injured 21 people, including children and teenagers. At least three people were arrested by the local police. One of the three suspects tried to escape when the police wanted to arrest him.
The Motive for Shooting at the Chiefs Parade is not yet Known
The police are still investigating the motive for the case. According to CBS News, there was a fight or argument that turned into a case of violence. The violent case triggered the shooting. The police confirmed that the shooting was not related to terrorism or extremism. The shooting suspect held a gun when they were arrested by police.
The police have also not identified the person who died in the shooting. Some local sources, such as Radio Station KKFI, explained that the victim who died was named Lisa Lopez. Many parties expressed their condolences for the death of Lisa Lopez via KFFI Facebook. Lisa Lopez’s friends also expressed condolences to Lisa Lopez’s family.
“She was the most wonderful, beautiful person,” said friend Lisa Lopez, who works at The Star’s, quoted from Kansas City.
All victims who suffered minor and serious injuries have also been rushed to the hospital. There are at least three local hospitals that are the destination for treatment of victims of the Chiefs Parade shooting. Two victims at University Health Hospital are in critical condition.
