If you like to cook something new, we suggest you cook buntil. Buntil is a typical Indonesian dish originating from the Purbalingga region. This dish is made using quite a complete set of spices, starting with shallots, garlic, galangal, turmeric, coconut milk, red chilies, and candlenuts. If you don’t like the spicy taste, just omit the red chilies when making this dish. If you are interested in making this dish, just follow these steps.
Ingredients
- 1 bunch of fresh cassava leaves and boil them for a while.
- 25 grams of dried ebi and try to stir-fry it.

Buntil Stuffing Seasoning
- 4 red onions
- 1 clove of garlic
- 2 small lime leaves
- 1/2-cm galangal
- 2 red chilies
- 1 stick handed over
- Salt to taste or according to taste
Ground spices for Buntil Soup
- 3 red chilies
- 5 cloves of red onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 cm of ginger
- A tablespoon of ground turmeric tea
- 1 cayenne pepper
- one pack of instant coconut milk
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions for Making Buntil Cassava Leaves
- You need to grind all the spices finely. If you don’t have a traditional Indonesian grinding tool, just use a blender. Make sure you use a little vegetable oil when grinding the spices with a blender. Set aside the ground spices.
- Take boiled cassava leaves and put coarsely grated coconut into the cassava leaves. Fold the right and left sides of the cassava leaves so that they enclose the grated coconut. Fish with thread to maintain the folds of the cassava leaves.
- Saute all the ground spices using a blender. Use low heat when sautéing the buntil spices. Saute until the buntil spices give off a fragrant smell.
- Add the coconut milk to the fragrant stir-fry spices. You can include mushroom seasoning as a natural flavoring that is healthy for the body. Don’t use MSG as a flavoring if you really want to make healthy food.
- Insert the cassava folds immediately into the coconut milk sauce. Let the sauce boil and turn off the stove. Buntil is ready for you to serve and eat.
